About David Graves
I’m David Graves, a proud union electrician, a fighter for the working class, and a relentless advocate for the future of labor. I serve on the Executive Board of IATSE Local 728, and my mission is simple, protect the value of your labor, on the job, and beyond it.
I don’t speak in corporate slogans. I speak from experience. I’m unapologetically pro-labor, unafraid to challenge the status quo, and unwilling to accept a future where members get left behind. The labor movement of the past won us contracts, but the labor movement of the future has to win us financial sovereignty, job security, and real respect in an economy built to devalue working people.
I’ve pushed for job placement programs to help members transition when the industry slows down. I’ve written proposals for financial safety nets when calls stop coming. I’ve taken heat for calling out toxic solidarity, speaking hard truths, and demanding transparency, not in theory, but in action.
I’m not running for attention. I’m running to fight, for a Local 728 that’s stronger, smarter, and built to last. For members who are tired of being told to wait. For a labor movement that refuses to lose another generation to inflation, silence, and stagnation.
If you’re satisfied with the way things are, I’m not your guy.
But if you’re tired of watching your paycheck shrink while your rent keeps rising. If you’re done being told to sit down and wait while everyone else gets ahead. If you want someone who will go to war for your job, your check, and your future, then I’m already in that fight.
And I won’t back down.
